Privacy Policy

vacation-rental-management.com ("the Site," "we," "us") is operated by AvantStay, Inc. ("AvantStay"), the Site's sponsor. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Site, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies only to this Site, not to avantstay.com or to the websites of any company reviewed here, each of which has its own privacy policy.

Information we collect

• Information you submit. When you use a manager-matching or contact form, we collect what you enter: typically your name, email address, phone number, property location, property details such as bedroom count, and any message you include. We also record the page the form was submitted from and the time of submission. The Site has no user accounts and never asks for payment information, government identifiers, or other sensitive personal information.
• Analytics information. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the Site is used: pages visited, referring source, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and interactions such as form submissions and outbound clicks. This is collected via cookies and similar identifiers.
• Server logs. Our hosting infrastructure keeps standard technical logs (IP address, requested URL, timestamp, user agent) for security and reliability.

How we use it

• To respond to your request. Matching requests are used to connect you with a vacation rental manager operating in your market.
• To operate, secure, and improve the Site, including measuring which content is useful.
• To send you communications you have requested. Any marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.

Who we share it with

• AvantStay. As the Site's operator, AvantStay receives form submissions and may contact you directly if it serves your market.
• A participating partner manager. When you request matching, your submission is shared with a participating partner manager that serves your market, drawn from the national companies ranked on this Site, and that partner may contact you directly about its services. Which companies participate is disclosed on our sponsor disclosure.
• Service providers. We use third-party providers to run the Site: hosting and content delivery, form processing and internal communications tools that route your submission to our team, and Google Analytics. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
• Legal. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of users, the public, or the Site.
• Business transfers. If the Site or its operator is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may transfer as part of that transaction under this policy's protections.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Form submissions go only to AvantStay, the participating partner manager we match you with, and the service providers listed above, never to data brokers or unrelated third parties.

Cookies and analytics choices

The Site sets analytics cookies via Google Analytics 4. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser; the Site works without them. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where required by law.

How long we keep it

Form submissions are retained for up to 24 months so we can follow up on your request, then deleted or anonymized unless a longer period is required by law. Analytics data is retained per our Google Analytics settings (14 months). Server logs rotate on a short cycle.

Security

The Site is served over HTTPS, form submissions are transmitted encrypted, and access to submitted information is limited to the people who handle matching requests. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we apply reasonable safeguards appropriate to the data we hold.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing editors@vacation-rental-management.com. We will verify your request using the email address associated with your submission and respond within the time required by applicable law.

California residents have the right under the CCPA/CPRA to know what personal information we collect and how it is used and shared (this policy), to access and receive a copy of it, to correct or delete it, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. As stated above, we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so no opt-out is needed. Requests: the email above, with "California privacy request" in the subject line. Residents of other states with similar laws may use the same process.

Children

The Site is directed at property owners and is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16; if you believe a child has submitted information, email us and we will delete it.

Links to other websites

The Site links to the websites of review platforms, industry resources, and other third parties. Their privacy practices are their own; this policy does not cover them.

Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date above. Material changes to how form submissions are shared will be reflected in the disclosure shown at the point of collection as well.
